is it just me, but after Crono picks up Marle's pendant and descends into the time portal, that wave-looking screen just doesn't disappear. and the weirdest thing, that the game isn't stuck, cuz when I press L+R+Start+Select, it normally returns to the main menu. what's the problem?

If memory does not deceive, Square Enix has added protection against pirated versions, like Dragon Quest V. Try to find some Action Replay code that is used to bypass this protection
